• Alternate-day fasting involves fasting about every other day, either by not eating anything or by eating only a few hundred calories.

Many researchers are warning about intermittent fasting and time-restricted feeding as many of the studies have important drawbacks, and the results are not always positive.

But with very little scientific evidence to support this theory, if you do decide that IF is for you, it’s important to work with a nutrition professional.


Lengthened periods of fasting could lead to gluttony in the feast periods, if you have a difficult relationship with food or a record of eating disorders, this strategy could trigger unhealthy addictions and lead to weight gain again.
